I would switch back to the CPU that came with the PC, presuming you still have it, upgrade the BIOS, load the BIOS defaults (ALWAYS do this after a BIOS upgrade), make sure the system boots normally, then shut down and install the new CPU and it should be okay. Looking at the system specs, looks like the BIOS you found is likely usable for the Mainboard you have. HP and such manufacturers are notoriously terible bout upgrading anything on their systems.
When I bought the CPU I had no idea that bios existed and to add onto that I'm not as computer savvy as some people out there so any terms that might be thrown my way I might not know about it. (I for some reason cannot access the website anymore but here is the name of the file that I downloaded) 941F1P07.zip After reading the text document that came along with the file I downloaded, I stumbled upon Model name RS880M02 which leads me to believe that this bios update is for a different computer. This sort of dumbfounded me and I have done some research, which has lead to me finding a bios version on the FOXCONN website that I thought was compatible. I recently bought this new CPU making sure that it is compatible with my motherboard, when I installed it and turned on the computer I received a message that said something similar to CPU is unsupported.
